About Me
I believe that we, as mothers, intuitively know what is best for ourselves and our babies. Often, moving through pregnancy and the birth experience can cause us to feel overwhelmed, exhausted and confused with the many decisions that need to be made regarding the best feeding and sleeping strategies, newborn care, family and household management and self-care. As a postpartum doula, I can support you in determining what needs to be done today and the most efficient way to accomplish it, including house organization, meal prep and planning, breastfeeding support, sibling companionship and newborn care all while making your rest and recuperation a top priority. A postpartum doula “mothers” the mother and holds a safe space for your physical and emotional processing and integration of the birth experience while offering resources and referrals to support your individual needs to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition into the expanding family unit.
Carly Greis is a DONA trained Postpartum Doula (Krista Maltais, AdvPCD/PDT(DONA)), Mindfulness Meditation teacher (University of California Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center), certified PA elementary education teacher, 500 hour Level II Yoga Teacher with a cumulative 800 hours of Yoga Therapy training. Carly has been lovingly working with infants, children and families for three decades as a teacher, nanny, mindfulness facilitator and music educator and has an additional 35 hours of continuing education through the NICABM on course topics Trauma, Shame, Emotional Triggers, Narcissism and Perfectionism and integrates this knowledge and wisdom into her vast field of expertise. Carly lives in Lafayette Hill with her teenage son and daughter and considers them to be her greatest teachers and gifts. She approaches each working and personal relationship with compassion, non-judgment and understanding, believing that we already hold all the wisdom we are seeking within. The “Mindful Doula’s” role is to support clients in recognizing how to create a healthy relationship between the mind, body and intuitive wisdom. Carly is also a poet, musician, nature mystic and artist.

Services

Daytime Postpartum Support
I offer individually tailored daytime support for infants, their caregivers and siblings, including newborn care, light meal prep, baby laundry, organization, schedule mapping, breastfeeding support, sibling companionship, shopping, errands, personalized resources and emotional processing support for caregivers. Additionally, my areas of expertise include Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga Therapy which may be incorporated as a nourishing and healing accompaniment.

Overnight Postpartum Support
Relax, heal and recover while I attend to your newborn during the evening hours! Overnight support allows you to fall asleep in peace as I keep a watchful eye on your newborn, bring the baby to you for nursing, bottle feed, tend to baby laundry, wash bottles/ pumps, take care of diaper changes and rock your baby lovingly back to sleep.

What is a DONA certified Postpartum Doula?
A Postpartum Doula is a non-medical, newborn care specialist who works with new parents and their infants from birth through twelve weeks of age. DONA International (Doulas of North America) is the world’s first, largest and leading doula certifying organization. The Postpartum Doula’s goal is to facilitate the transition to parenthood by supplying reliable, factual information, reassurance, hands-on support with children and household organization. By taking care of the new parents, the doula enables them to recover from pregnancy and birth and to focus their energy on bonding with their new baby. Postpartum Doulas offer compassionate, non-judgmental support along with an extra set of loving hands, creating a more seamless transition for the expanding family.
Mindfulness Support
In addition to postpartum doula services, I offer virtual mindfulness support as an accompaniment to traditional therapy. I provide a safe space for you to feel seen, heard and validated through the integration and processing of life's challenges. Through a lens of compassionate presence, my intention is to offer a sounding board of deep clarity and to summon the appropriate questions that may inspire the next best step forward. May I be a clear mirror and support you by shining a light on your gifts while accompanying you as you return to your innate trust in your wise intuition. I incorporate multiple modalities during fifty minute virtual zoom sessions including somatic movement, guided meditation, breath work and mindfulness. This offering is dedicated to those moving through shifting relationships, mothers craving a more intimate embodied presence while parenting and those longing to transcend recurring limiting beliefs and to reconnect to their inherent sovereignty.
